Health benefits are key for seven in 10 parents when packing a lunchbox for their children, but kids have different ideas, the survey, commissioned by Warburtons found. Chocolate spread, jam and peanut butter were all in the top 10 of their sandwich fillings. Two in three picky pupils aged six to 11 even make complaints or put in requests.
A sandwich, crisps, fruit and water is the most common kids’ packed lunch. Warburtons, who quizzed 1,000 parents, said, “Health, cost and catering for fussy eaters and all huge factors”.
